Hello My Name Is: “Hallowed”

Hello My Name Is: “Hallowed”

Psalm 9:10 Those who know your name will trust in you.

Hallowed: The Lord’s Prayer and the Name of God

Matthew 6:5-15

“Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.”

The word “hallow” means sanctify: “to make or treat as holy.’

What Does It Mean to HALLOW God’s name?

Believe Him. – Numbers 20:12, Ps.9:10

Fear Him. – Isaiah 8:12–13, Psalm 118

Obey Him – Leviticus 22:31–32, 1 John 5:2-3, John 13:34

Glorify Him –  Leviticus 10:3

When we pray “Hallowed be your name” we are asking God: cause your word to be believed, cause your displeasure to be feared, cause your commandments to be obeyed, and cause yourself to be glorified.

Hallowed is VERTICAL and HORIZONTAL.

We are touching on a vertical/PERSONAL point of worship.

We are praying a horizontal/WORLDWIDE prayer for the spread of the gospel to unreached people of the earth.

Your Kingdom Come. Personal? Worldwide?

Matthew 6:33

Thy Will Be Done. Personal? Worldwide?

Psalm 103:21, Habakkuk 2:14

So, What’s The Point?

  1. Is God’s Top Priority Your Top Priority?
  2. Pray Those Priorities into Reality
  3. Seek to Let This Prayer Be Answered in Your Life

Hello, My Name Is: HALLOWED!

YHWH is real, he is glorious, Merciful and forgiving, almighty, and He is jealous for his bride.

Our journey through the names of God ends with a call for us to Hallow His name in all the earth.

What could happen if we take these names of God to heart?

What if we prayed earnestly that his name would be glorified in us and through us?
