Don’t Fear the Chisel Part 2 Comfort

Don’t Fear the Chisel Part 2 Comfort

Our Comfort… Comfort can become a trap, where you view the outside world as scary and strange. Earthly comforts are not our calling. Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:3-9 An Uncomfortable Lesson from the Eagles… She is making it uncomfortable for her eaglets so they will grow beyond the nest and fulfill the reason for which they were created. They were created experience the thrill of flight, the thrill of the hunt, and the thrill of creating their own nests. God does much the same to us. He won’t let us settle for comfort. He is the great disturber, because He wants us to reach out & find the very best that life & eternity have to offer. There are some amazing things that God can do in your life when you experience suffering and discomfort. -Compels us to reach out to God. 2 Cor 1:9 -Causes us to reach out to one another. 2 Cor. 1:7 -Connects us to the suffering of others. 2 Cor 1:3,4 -Cements our character. 2 Cor. 1:5-7 -Confirms we still have far to go. 2 Cor. 1:6 God has an ongoing plan for our lives that is bigger and more purposeful than we can imagine. Our seasons of discomfort and suffering are useful. They draw us back to God. The chisel exists to remind us God has a bigger destiny for us than just worldly comforts. The chisel exists to wake us up.
