Advent 4: Love Arrives

Advent 4: Love Arrives

Advent 4: Love Arrives

Hope Is an anchor for our soul, and that anchor is Jesus. God will keep his promises because he kept his promise when Jesus arrived.

Peace is offered to us at a great sacrifice, Jesus became our Emmanuel, God with us. The very presence of God is peace for us.

Joy arrives when Jesus arrives because He is our whole life. In Him we live and move and have our being. Joy is a heavenly treasure that we receive as we love others as God has loved us.

The fourth candle signifies LOVE. God’s love is the driving force behind the promise and arrival of Jesus Christ, the Messiah.

Love Arrives to Save The World

The curse of sin separated us all from God. Romans 5:12, 3:23

The whole human race was lost and in need of a saviour. Ephesians 2:4-5

But, God loves us so much, that he sent His own son to suffer and die in our place. 1 John 3:16, Mark 10:45

God is love!

Love Arrives at Your Doorstep

Will you love Jesus?

However, there is also an invitation, a challenge, to US as love arrives through Jesus Christ: Will you love LIKE Jesus?

In Matthew 25, Jesus says that the extent that we love him is revealed in how we care for those people who are “overlooked and ignored”. (MT 25:40 MSG)

Jesus walks among the people who randomly show up in your life.

He is present in the people who wander through the doors of our church.

I want to know from the overlooked if we look like Jesus to them.

I want to hear from the ignored if we love them like Jesus loves them.

We DID hear from them, and they said we did!

That’s on YOU. You did that. You loved folks like Jesus loves them!

Be encouraged about how well you have been loving others. When Jesus arrived at your door, you rose to the challenge.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” Galatians 6:9
