Vision – Intro

Pastor Jeff Knott reintroduces the Vision for Grace Church for 2018:

“Vision is a concise way of saying what God is calling us to do.”

“Our hope is found in Jesus Christ.”

“For in Him we live and move and have our being. Acts 17:28”

“For can be replaced with ‘By Him'”.

“By Him we live – that’s our capacity. By Him we move – that’s our destiny. By Him we have our being – that’s our identity.”

“Life is moldable – like play doh.”

“What would you reshape in your situation?”

“We are people made in the image of God, we are created to create.”

“We take what God has given and make something out of it.”

“Even the most difficult things you are going through, the Lord can redeem those – they can seem to us as a gift. That’s the power of the redeeming work of God in our lives.”

“The ability to freely participate in the making and the remaking of our world.”

“We bump up against limitations. Those limitations may be God’s way of saying, ‘Not this thing,’ but there are so many other things that we can work on and create with what God has given us. We are created to create. That speaks to our future.”

“God has given us great freedom to decide and to live our lives – under Him, for sure – but allow some expression of ourselves to partner with God.”

“What kind of world are we making? What kind of community do we want to be? What is the only thing that we can do?”

“Unoriginal sin is to neglect our uniqueness.”

“If you have the vision and the intention to do something with God’s provision, you will be given more.”

“Your faithfulness is not some generic assignment, it is specific to you. And it’s your calling to find out what that is.”

“The future is open. For 2018 what is God calling you to change or reshape in you? He’s inviting you to take the play doh of your soul and your heart and give it to Him to reshape.”
