Intimacy and No Excuses

Intimacy and No Excuses

Susan Millman shares from John 4:1-26 where Jesus tells the woman at the well that true worshippers worship the Lord in spirit and in truth:

The best place to worship God is right where we’re at.

Every moment of the day is an appropriate place to worship the Lord, there’s no special place, there’s no special time.

The woman at the well had excuses about where to worship Jesus. And we make excuses too.

Even though our civilization has great speed of things, it hasn’t given us more time with God.

God desires our companionship – our connecting with Him.

To worship the Lord in Spirit is allowing the songs we sing, the prayers we voice not to be rote; they’re to come up from our spirits.

The truth of who God is and the truth of who we are. When we are worshipping God, when we are speaking with God, we need to know who He is.

How we honour Him and how we put our faith and our trust in Him is related to how we know who our God is. He is always trustworthy, always good and always acting in a redemptive way.

We are His children, we are His sons and daughters. We are to approach the throne with boldness because we’re His kids.

Humbly trusting that He is who He says He is and He will do what He says He’ll do.

Obedience is intimacy with God. It’s hearing from Him and doing what He says.
