Know God

Know God

Pastor Donna Schultz continues the sermon series on 1 John: The Inside Story with “Know God”:

Jesus walked in love wherever He went.

Walking in the light is walking in love; walking in the darkness is walking in hate.

Whatever you do in your spiritual life can be brought greater light or greater understanding if you make the choice to walk in love.

How you treat one another is reflected in the amount of light you are willing to walk in.

When Jesus walked on earth, walking in the light meant that love was His greatest motivation.

What could be better than having someone know Christ in a greater way and then having that person’s life affect someone else’s life?

The work ‘know’ is used twenty-five times to represent ‘to perceive’ and fifteen times ‘to know as a fact’.

If I claim to know God then I should be walking as Jesus walked. Who I know influences not only what I do, but who I am.

We can know the God of the universe. When we get to know God, He changes everything.

Because I know our God as who He is, then I make the decision to still love.

We can look in many different directions for truth and knowledge and yet the real truth comes from Jesus Himself and His anointing He has placed on our lives.

Truth is something we need to continually cultivate in our lives.

Jesus Christ is the Truth. He is our anchor in the tumultuous culture of humanism, new age, self-exaltation and personal pursuit.

The more we stay in His word, the more we can be assured that we keep the main thing, the main thing.

Jeremiah 9:23 & 24

This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.
