Gentleness

Pastor Jeff Knott continues the Sermon Series on The Fruit of the Spirit with “Gentleness”:

“Don’t understand meekness with weakness. Meekness is strength under control.”

“Gentle, meek and humble are not used of God and yet even in His great power He has gentleness.”

“God will not forget people. He has a plan and a purpose for every heart and life.”

“How do we cultivate gentleness in a culture that celebrates aggression and power? It’s so simple … it’s prayer.”

“Prayer is the seed of gentleness and the absence of anger.”

“Pray for people you are at odds with.”

“Another way to cultivate gentleness is to kneel. What does kneeling symbolize? It symbolizes submission.”

“Develop a willingness to yield.”

“Trust God with the outcome because we’ve already prayed about it.”

“Patience is the ability to bear and endure without anger; gentleness is the ability to bear and endure without aggression. They go together.”

“This week you will have an opportunity to take people apart … What if we made it our life mission to put people back together again?”

“One of the responses of love is gentleness.”
